For the Second Consecutive Year, PASCO Scientific Is Honored as an Innovation Product Award Finalist in the International GESS Education Awards
Winners to be announced on March 16th at the 2017 GESS Conference in Dubai.
For the second year in a row, PASCO Scientific has been named a finalist in the GESS Education Awards (GEA), thanks to its groundbreaking wireless science education solutions. PASCO’s Wireless Sensors have been short-listed for an Innovation Product Award in the fourth annual GEA , following on the heels of last year’s finalist nominations for the Wireless Spectrometer and Wireless Smart Cart. Sponsored by the Global Educational Supplies & Solutions Conference, the GEA is an annual event that celebrates excellence in education for suppliers, teachers, educational professionals, and schools throughout the Middle East.
“For decades, sensor technologies have been perceived to be complex and expensive, and not widely accessible for student learning. PASCO’s Wireless Sensors are breaking these misconceptions by providing easy-to-use, affordable, modern sensor technologies just like those used by scientists in laboratories,” said Steven Korte, CEO of PASCO Scientific. “With the Wireless Sensors, teachers now have an affordable way to integrate sensors into their instruction to support the hands-on, inquiry-based learning required in today’s classrooms.”
PASCO’s Wireless Sensors open up new opportunities for students to engage in scientific inquiry, and think and act like scientists. The current line includes wireless pH, temperature, pressure, force/acceleration, conductivity, light, voltage, and current sensors. By simplifying lab setup and removing the clutter of cables, the Wireless Sensors enable students to perform experiments that were difficult or impossible before, and spend more time exploring. Using the sensors’ onboard memory, students can stream live data or collect and store data on the sensors.
GEA organizers reported that they were “inundated with the highest quality entries for the awards this year.” For the Innovation Product Awards, a panel of expert judges reviewed the submissions and selected those products and services they believe demonstrate innovation at the highest level. Winners will be announced at a gala dinner during the GESS Conference in Dubai on March 15.
PASCO has been designing, developing, and supporting innovative teaching and learning solutions for K–12 and higher education since 1964. PASCO’s team of educators, scientists, educational researchers, engineers, and many others is committed to the advancement of STEM education around the world. Today teachers and students in more than 100 countries use PASCO solutions.
