Tips for removing cover from dissolved oxygen gas sensor for charging
Help removing cap from Wireless Dissolved Oxygen Sensor
In order to provide water proof seals for the top of this sensor, our engineers need to use tight tolerances and gaskets to keep the water out. This will sometimes result in requiring larger torques to remove the cover from the sensor. To assist in the removal of the top cover of the sensor please note the following.
1. Only apply torque at the edges shown in the image below.
To help apply larger torques, you may wish to wear gloves. Gloves with rubberized surfaces such as nitrile or even silicone oven mitts can help with comfortably applying sufficient torque to open the sensor.
For an especially stubborn cap, you may wish to use a hair drier to gently warm to the clear cap. Similar to warming the metal top to a glass bottle, this thermal expansion will reduce the needed torque to open the top.
