Connecting PS-2600A Spectrometer to Chromebooks running Spectrometry software
Pairing the PS-2600A with a Chromebook
Prior to the use of the PS-2600A Wireless Spectrometers with Chromebooks, the Spectrometry software needs to be downloaded from the Google Play Store (not the standard Chromebook store from which SPARKvue is downloaded).
Location services must be enabled within the Android environment on the Chromebook. This is turned off by default so the following must be done.
To access the Android settings within the Chromebook, please do the following.
At the bottom right, select the time.
Select Settings . Or press Alt + Shift + s.
At the top, in the search bar, type Android
From the Android settings, please ensure that the Location is enabled. This does not give the GPS location of your device. This simply gives the Chromebook permission to broadcast its MAC address (a unique identifier for your Chromebook so that the BLE device can pair with it properly).
Once Location has been enabled, launch Spectrometry.
The PS-2600A Wireless Spectrometer should then be visible within the devices to pair within the software.
