Induction: Magnet through a Coil

Examine Faraday's Law of Induction: A magnet is dropped through a coil and the voltage across the coil graphed as a function of time. The total integrated flux as the magnet moves into the coil will be compared to the flux as it moves out of the coil.

Featured Equipment

Voltage Sensor

Voltage Sensor (unshrouded)

Unshrouded Voltage Sensor designed for use with PASCO’s 550 or 850 Interface’s analog channel.

2-Axis Magnetic Field Sensor

PASPORT 2-Axis Magnetic Field Sensor

This sensor enables you to measure radial and axial fields simultaneously when used with PASPORT Interfaces. Dynamic variable over-sampling greatly reduces noise at low sample rates.

AC/DC Electronics Laboratory

AC/DC Electronics Laboratory

Facilitates electricity experiments for AC and DC. Can be used as a stand-alone with a multimeter or with PASCO sensors and software.

Alnico Bar Magnets

Alnico Bar Magnets (2 Pack)

Comprised of alloy mix of Al, Ni, and Co, is stronger and last longer than Iron magnets.

Support

Many lab activities can be conducted with our Wireless, PASPORT, or even ScienceWorkshop sensors and equipment. For assistance with substituting compatible instruments, contact PASCO Technical Support. We're here to help.
