Project: Design an Insulator
Students must engineer an insulated container to minimize heat loss according to a set of design and performance constraints; a temperature sensor is used to assess insulator performance.
Supports NGSS Performance Expectations HS-PS3-3: Design, build, and refine a device that works within given constraints to convert one form of energy into another form of energy -and- HS-ETS1-3: Evaluate a solution to a complex real-world problem based on prioritized criteria and trade-offs that account for a range of constraints, including cost, safety, reliability, and aesthetics, as well as possible social, cultural, and environmental impacts.

Featured Equipment
Wireless Temperature Sensor
The Wireless Temperature Sensor is a general-purpose sensor found in many science labs. With a rugged, waterproof design and a long-lasting battery, students can spend more time collecting data and less time dealing with equipment.
Support
Many lab activities can be conducted with our Wireless, PASPORT, or even ScienceWorkshop sensors and equipment. For assistance with substituting compatible instruments, contact PASCO Technical Support. We're here to help.
