(OUT OF STOCK THROUGH APRIL 2024) Engage students to measure data while observing solar eclipses.
- 1x Wireless Weather Sensor with GPS
- 1x Solar Eclipse Viewing Glasses (Qty. 25)
Product Summary
Order soon, limited supply of glasses going fast! PASCO’s Solar Eclipse Viewing Glasses enable students to safely observe all phases of the eclipse. This set of 25 glasses allows the whole class to get involved in these cosmic activities. The Wireless Weather Sensor houses several sensing elements within a single unit to provide 19 different measurements when monitoring complex environmental conditions. Use the sensor to study microclimates and local weather patterns in real time. Students can see if the shade of the moon during an eclipse changes wind speed or causes other weather phenomena. The collected data can be wirelessly transmitted to class devices for student analysis, making it possible to perform group studies in a single class period. With the built-in GPS, students can also collect and analyze location data for GIS investigations, displaying it on the SPARKvue Map display, powered by ESRI ArcGIS.

How It Works
The lenses consist of a thin layer of silver deposited on black dyed scratch-resistant polymer film. This combination filters out 100% of harmful ultraviolet and infrared radiation and allows only a safe amount of visible light for direct viewing of the Sun. Our premium eclipse filters create the sharpest solar images with a natural orange color. Our glasses meet the ISO standards for directly viewing the Sun and are CE certified, so you can feel confident about your eye safety during the upcoming solar eclipses! The glasses should be inspected for any defects or damage before each use, as even a small scratch or tear can compromise effectiveness and safety for this type of equipment.
