Updating firmware for wireless sensors and interfaces (Bluetooth 4.0 or USB)
How do I update the firmware on my PASCO wireless sensors ?
To update the firmware on wireless sensors,
- Download the latest version of your software at the following links.
SPARKvue: www.pasco.com/downloads/sparkvue
Capstone: www.pasco.com/downloads/capstone
MatchGraph: www.pasco.com/downloads/matchgraph
- Run the newly installed version of your software.
- Power on your wireless sensor or interface.
- Make sure that your Bluetooth is enabled on your computing device and your PASCO software has permission to use the Bluetooth connection. This may have to be set within permissions (Mac)
- For sensors with USB sockets, plug the charging cable into the sensor and the computing device onto which you are running your PASCO software.
If a firmware update is available for your device, the PASCO software should prompt you to update the firmware.
Additional tips for updating firmware:
- Prior to updating the firmware, please make sure the battery for your device is fully charged, or that the device does not show the red battery level indicator within the software once the sensor has been paired.
- For wireless sensors that must be updated through a Bluetooth connection, have the sensor as close to the Bluetooth radio on your computing device as possible. This will make sure that you have a strong signal during the update process.
- Make sure that you have gone to the manufacturer's site for the computing device that you are using and that you have applied any available updates for the manufacturer's hardware within the computing device (especially the Bluetooth driver)
