Increasing signal with spectrometers when used with optical fiber
How to increase the signal from a spectrometer.
Within the Spectrometry software, the following frame can be used to increase the signal and the signal to noise ratio for the spectrometer.

The following shows the use of additional optics to increase the intensity of the light entering into the fiber collection aperture.
Note: The lens must be able to pass the wavelengths of interest.
Discussion: The amplification of the signal from the detector array within the spectrometers is set such that the array will not be saturated by the signal passed during absorption measurements. The area that passes signal to the optical path when using the optical fiber is much smaller, so it will take more time for the detector to accumulated the counts needed to generate a readable spectrum.
