Updating PASCO Software on SPARK LX/LXi /LXi2Dataloggers with a Flash Drive
This guide will show you how to manually update SPARKvue, MatchGraph or Spectrometry on SPARK LX/LXiLXi2 Dataloggers.
FOR PS-3600, PS-3600A, and PS-3601: Only use this sideloading method is the following Google Play Store method does not work or if you do not have access to the Google Play Store: https://www.pasco.com/support/knowledge-base/2
For PS-3600B: Only use this sideloading method if your connected Wi-Fi is not compatible with the firewall requirements to communicate with BlueSphere MDM: https://www.pasco.com/support/knowledge-base/104
Instructions
- Download one or all APK file(s) from the following links - look for "Sideloading on Android" section:
- SPARKvue: https://www.pasco.com/downloads/sparkvue
- MatchGraph: https://www.pasco.com/downloads/matchgraph
- Spectrometry: https://www.pasco.com/downloads/spectrometry
- Copy the file(s) to the root of a USB flash drive (formatted as FAT/FAT32/exFAT).
- On LXi devices, press the power button on the interface and insert the USB flash drive into the USB port. On LX devices you will need a Micro USB to USB Female Adapter, also known as a USB OTG Adapter, to connect the USB flash drive. On the LXi2, insert the USB flash drive into the USB port.
- From the LX/LXi's home screen, open My Files. From the LXi2, open Files.
- Select the USB Storage device that should be on the bottom left of the menu.
- Select the SPARKvue_x.x.x.x.apk (or other) file. Your device may say "Staging app..."
- When prompted, select the Install option. The app is now updating.
- When finished, select Open. Congratulations, you're done!
- In SPARKvue you can confirm your update has been successful by clicking on the Menu icon and selecting About SPARKvue to display the updated version number.
