Computer Science Education Week is just around the corner, and we're ready to help your science students start coding to learn! In celebration of Hour of Code, we're sharing some of our favorite, hassle-free activities designed to get your students programming, without any prior experience.

Celebrate GIS Day (Nov. 17) with an outdoor adventure into your school's backyard field site.
Join us this Thursday to learn how you can bring the outdoors inside with an easy-to-use method for collecting GIS data on smartphones. We'll analyze soil moisture in our own backyard using just a smartphone, SPARKvue software, and a Soil Moisture Sensor to create an interactive GIS map of our local environment.

Join us this Thursday for a special Halloween edition of PASCO Live: PASCO Dead! Dare to explore scary science alongside the PASCO team as they smash pumpkins, investigate ghoulish phenomena, and demo creepy chemical reactions.

This Thursday, learn how to transform abstract lessons in sound into tangible, phenomena-based explorations using the new PASCO Sonometer. Simply designed and easy to use, the PASCO Sonometer allows students to explore the relationship between notes, string tension, and sound frequency through hands-on manipulation of the instrument's strings. Join us for a first look at making frequencies fun with the new PASCO Sonometer!

This Thursday, take a closer look at the capabilities and performance of PASCO’s spectrometers. We’ll compare our award-winning Wireless Spectrometer (VIS) to the new PASCO UV-Vis Spectrometer and demonstrate common applications to showcase the benefits of each. From basic measurements of absorbance and transmittance to Beer's Law and emission spectra, we'll cover it all during this week's exploration of spectrophotometry.

Searching for activities that bridge the gap between science and computer science? Join us this Thursday for an exciting look at three computational modeling activities designed for hands-on, minds-on learning in middle and high school science courses.

For middle school, we’ll present a simple, computational approach to physical science by measuring the force of a cart’s impact. Then we’ll increase the complexity for high school as we apply computational modeling to more difficult concepts, including projectile motion with air drag and simple pendulums without small angle approximations.

School is back in session and so are we! PASCO Live is back and ready to help you reengage learners with a gamified approach to teaching motion graphing.

Great for introductory lessons in motion graphing or just kicking the Summer slump, MatchGraph! challenges students to replicate motions graphs using their own movement and a PASCO Wireless Motion Sensor. With various graphs for position and velocity, built-in scoring, and score tracking, this free app is sure to get your students engaged and excited about the year ahead.
