Physics Starter Lab Station • EP-3579

The Physics Starter Lab Station makes it easy and affordable to begin using sensor-based technology in your physics classroom or at home. Inside the Starter Lab Station are the wireless sensors used to perform 9 kinematics, dynamics, voltage, and circuit lab activities from the Physics Lab Station Investigations manual. Available separately is the Physics Extension Lab Station (EP-3580) which, when combined with the Physics Starter Lab Station, comprises all the wireless sensors used to perform the 20 labs inside the Physics Lab Station Investigations manual, plus many of the lab activities found in PASCO's Advanced Physics 1 Lab Manual and Advanced Physics 2 Lab Manual.

Components of the Starter Lab Station

Wireless Sensors: PASCO's rugged, low-cost wireless sensors connect directly to computers, Chromebooks, tablets, and mobile devices to allow students to quickly collect data, leaving more time for analyzing and interpreting data. This lab station includes:

• 1x Wireless Motion Sensor (PS-3219)
• 1x Wireless Force Acceleration Sensor (PS-3202)
• 1x Wireless Voltage Sensor (PS-3211)
• 1x Wireless Current Sensor (PS-3212)  

Gratnells Storage Tray: Every Starter Lab Station includes a Gratnells storage tray with a custom-cut insert designed to securely fit each sensor and accessory. These trays provide a convenient and well-ordered storage solution for any classroom, while also making transportation between classrooms effortless. The custom storage insert also includes spaces for each complementary sensor from the Physics Extension Lab Station, which can be purchased separately. 

Digital Access to Lab Activities: Included with the starter lab station is digital access to:

• Physics Lab Station Investigations manual (see experiments tab) - This lab manual includes 20 labs that cover topics in kinematics, dynamics,  circular motion, rotational dynamics, waves and sound, and electricity and magnetism. Each lab activity includes editable student handouts and various teacher resources including answer keys and sample data.
• PASCO's Advanced Physics 1 Lab Manual (see experiments tab) - This lab manual covers the latest standards for College Board AP Physics 1.
  
• PASCO's Advanced Physics 2 Lab Manual (see experiments tab) - This lab manual covers the latest standards for College Board AP Physics 2.

Printed Samples of Student Handouts: 10 of the 20 student lab activity handouts from Essential Physics: Additional Labs are printed, bound in a booklet, and included in the lab station for your convenience.

Distance Learning Resources: The 10 labs found in the Printed Samples Booklet also include digital resources to support distance learning for students working at home. These resources include live video recordings of data collection and sample data files that students can use to perform their own analyses.

The Printed Samples Booklet includes the following 10 student lab handouts taken from PASCO's Physics Lab Station Investigations manual. The combined Physics Starter Lab Station (EP-3579) and Physics Extension Lab Station (EP-3580) comprise the sensors used to perform all 20 labs, plus many of the lab activities found in PASCO's Advanced Physics 1 Lab Manual and Advanced Physics 2 Lab Manual.
