The Wireless 3-Axis Accelerometer / Altimeter can measure acceleration, angular velocity in three dimensions, and altitude making it ideal for physics experiments.
- 1x 3-Axis Acceleration / Altimeter Sensor with rubberized case
- 1x Adjustable strap
- 1x Thumbscrew
See the Buying Guide for this item's required, recommended, and additional accessories.
Product Summary
This 3-axis accelerometer comes housed in a rubberized case to absorb the shock of high accelerations during classroom physics experiments and demonstrations. The wireless nature of the sensor allows it to stream live data to either Capstone or SPARKvue for live classroom demonstrations measuring accelerations, angular velocity, and altitude. This sensor is ideal for collecting data on roller coaster rides!
Depending on your experiment, the Wireless Acceleration/Altimeter allows you to change the acceleration range for optimal results:
- ±16 g
- ±100 g
- ±200 g
- ±400 g
The rubberized case is fitted with slots to feed the included strap through which allows for easy mounting to objects such as a bike frame. Other through holes are available for customer mounting options. Also included is a thumbscrew that screws into the case to attach it to a bracket.
The Wireless 3-Axis Acceleration / Altimeter measures all of the following:
- Acceleration - X (m/s²)
- Acceleration - Y (m/s²)
- Acceleration - Z (m/s²)
- Acceleration - Resultant (m/s²)
- Angular Velocity - X (rad/s)
- Angular Velocity - Y (rad/s)
- Angular Velocity - Z (rad/s)
- Altitude (m)

Experiment Library
Perform the following experiments and more with the Wireless 3-Axis Acceleration/Altimeter.
Visit PASCO's Experiment Library to view more activities.
Angular Velocity and Centripetal Acceleration
Students explore the relationship between centripetal acceleration and the rotational speed of an object.
Centripetal, Tangential, and Angular Acceleration
A rod rotates in a horizontal plane, and is made to slow steadily to a stop. This setup is used to explore the different types of acceleration involved in this motion: centripetal, tangential, and angular acceleration.
Designing and Testing Crash Cushions
Students measure the acceleration of a cart as it collides with a solid barrier and a simple crash cushion. Students use their data and Newton's Second Law to help design and build an improved crash cushion that reduced the maximum...
